University of Mysore was established on 27 July 1916, the sixth university founded in India and the first in the Karnataka region, then still the princely state of Mysore. It came about through the initiative of Maharaja Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and his Diwan, the engineer-statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya, at a time when higher education south of Bombay and Madras was thin on the ground. The university's main campus, Manasagangotri, sits on the western edge of Mysuru city. It now affiliates around 226 colleges, runs dozens of its own postgraduate departments, and holds a NAAC A grade — it was in fact the first Indian university NAAC ever accredited, in 2000, with a five-star rating under NAAC's earlier scale.

Why a result might not show up yet

Mysore University's affiliating footprint covers a large number of colleges across Mysuru and neighbouring districts, so results are processed and released college by college and course by course rather than on one fixed date. Before assuming something is wrong, check the exact scheme your programme follows — Mysore runs both semester and annual patterns depending on the course and the college — and confirm your college is affiliated to the University of Mysore and not a newer, separately carved-out university nearby (several districts around Mysuru now have their own state universities).

The result on the portal is provisional. Your marksheet is issued by your college or the university's examination section, typically some weeks later.

How to check

1. Open uni-mysore.ac.in and go to the results / examination section.
2. Select your exact course and semester.
3. Enter your register number as printed on your hall ticket.
4. Save the result as a PDF as soon as it appears.

If a mark looks wrong, or a paper didn't clear

• Photocopy of the answer script and challenge revaluation are the usual routes — challenge revaluation means your script is shown to you along with the model answer before a final decision is made.
• Applications go through your college, which forwards them to the university's Examination Section, within the short window announced after each result — fees are charged per paper.
• For a backlog or supplementary paper, ask your college when the next examination for that subject is scheduled.
