Bharathidasan University Result 2026

Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli was established in February 1982 by an Act of the Tamil Nadu government and recognised by the UGC in 1985, taking its name from the revolutionary Tamil poet Bharathidasan (1891–1968). It was formed as part of the wider bifurcation of the old University of Madras's academic territory that also produced Madurai Kamaraj University some years earlier, and today affiliates more than 190 colleges — including 21 government and science colleges, 20 aided colleges and well over 130 self-financing arts, science and education colleges — across the Tiruchirappalli region.

What "semester result" means here

With affiliation spread across government, aided and a very large number of self-financing colleges, there is no single result day. Each course, semester and college batch is evaluated and published as the examination branch processes it, so it's normal for a self-financing college and a government college running the same course to see results on different days.

The result on the portal is provisional. Your marksheet is issued by your college, typically some weeks after the online result — plan around that gap if you need the physical document for an admission or job application.

How to check

1. Open www.bdu.ac.in and find the results / examinations section.
2. Select your exact course, semester and scheme.
3. Enter your register number / roll number as printed on your hall ticket.
4. Save the result as a PDF as soon as it appears.

If a mark looks wrong, or a paper didn't clear

• Retotalling/rechecking confirms your marks were added and recorded correctly — the faster, cheaper option.
• Revaluation sends the script to another examiner for a fresh look, at a higher fee, and can move the mark up or down.
• Both are applied for through your college examination cell within the short window announced after each result.
• For an arrear/backlog paper, ask your college when the next examination for that subject is scheduled — Bharathidasan generally runs these alongside the following regular cycle.
