Saurashtra University, Rajkot was established on 23 May 1967, carved out of Gujarat University after sustained demand from educationists and freedom fighters of the Saurashtra region, a demand that grew stronger after the formation of Gujarat state in 1961. For its first years the university ran with two headquarters, Rajkot and Bhavnagar, until Bhavnagar's colleges moved to their own university and Rajkot became the sole seat. Today it affiliates around 270 colleges spread across six districts — Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Amreli and Surendranagar — from a 363-acre campus that also houses 29 postgraduate departments.

What "semester result" means here

With affiliated colleges spread across an entire region rather than one city, Saurashtra University does not have a single result day. Each course, semester and district batch is evaluated and published as it's processed, so it's routine for a college in Jamnagar to see its result before, or after, one in Amreli running the same course. Check the exact semester scheme too — the university runs both semester and annual patterns depending on the programme, and picking the wrong one is a common reason a result looks "missing."

The result on the portal is provisional; your marksheet is issued by your college, typically some weeks later. If you need the physical document for an admission or a job application, build that gap into your planning.

2. Select your exact faculty, course and semester — Saurashtra University runs programmes across arts, commerce, science, law, education and more, each with its own result list.
3. Enter your roll number / seat number as printed on your hall ticket.
4. Save the result as a PDF as soon as it appears.

If a mark looks wrong, or a paper didn't clear

• Rechecking verifies your marks were totalled and recorded correctly — the quicker, cheaper option.
• Revaluation sends the script to another examiner for a fresh assessment, at a higher fee, and can move the mark up or down.
• Both are applied for through your college examination cell, which forwards the request to the university, within the short window announced after each result.
• For a backlog paper, ask your college when the next examination for that subject is scheduled — Saurashtra University typically runs these alongside the following regular cycle.
