What to do in the first week after your result

If you have a back paper, find out from your college examination cell when the form opens and closes. These windows are short, announced through colleges, and easy to miss while you are still absorbing the result. A missed form costs a full cycle; the paper itself costs a few weeks of preparation.

If a mark looks wrong, decide quickly between rechecking and revaluation. Rechecking verifies that marks were totalled and recorded correctly. Revaluation is a fresh assessment of your script — a different process, with its own fee and timeline. Both have application windows that close soon after the result, and at many universities a revaluation can move a mark in either direction, so read the regulation before applying.

If everything is in order, still do one thing: check that your name, parentage and enrolment number on the result match your other documents exactly. Discrepancies are far easier to fix now than during a degree verification years later.

Planning around the gap between semesters

For the final semester

Your degree certificate follows the last semester's result on the university's own timetable, and is normally issued through the college. If you have an admission or employment deadline that needs proof of graduation before the degree is ready, ask the examination cell about a provisional certificate — that is what it exists for, and requesting it early is much easier than requesting it urgently.
