BBMKU Dhanbad Result 2026

Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad is one of Jharkhand's newer state universities, created by a state government notification dated 23 March 2017 and formally gazetted that April, carving out the Dhanbad and Bokaro districts from Vinoba Bhave University's much wider jurisdiction. Its foundation stone was laid that November by the then Chief Minister. "Koyalanchal" — coal belt — refers to the Dhanbad-Bokaro coalfields the university serves, and it is named after Binod Bihari Mahto, a Dhanbad-born lawyer who co-founded the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 1972 alongside Shibu Soren and A.K. Roy, campaigned for a separate Jharkhand state under the slogan "Padho aur Lado" (study and fight), and served as a Bihar MLA and later as Lok Sabha MP from Giridih before his death in 1991. The university today runs across a network of constituent and affiliated colleges spanning general degree, B.Ed, law, nursing, medical and pharmacy education in the two districts.

Why a result might not show up yet

BBMKU is still a relatively young university, having taken over examination and affiliation duties from Vinoba Bhave University only since 2017 — some older records and certificates may still reference the earlier university. Because it covers a mix of constituent colleges (run directly by the university) and affiliated private and government colleges, results are published course by course as each is processed, so a delay for one college doesn't mean a problem across the board. Check whether your programme runs on the semester or annual scheme, as the two are published separately.

The result on the portal is provisional; your marksheet is issued by your college or the university, typically some weeks later.

How to check

1. Open bbmku.ac.in and find the results / examination section.
2. Select your exact course and semester.
3. Enter your roll number as printed on your admit card.
4. Save the result as a PDF as soon as it appears.

If a mark looks wrong, or a paper didn't clear

• Rechecking / scrutiny verifies your marks were totalled and recorded correctly.
• Revaluation sends the script to another examiner for a fresh assessment, at a higher fee, and can move the mark either way.
• Both are applied for through your college examination cell, which forwards the request to the university, within the short window announced after each result.
• For a backlog paper, ask your college when the next examination for that subject is scheduled.
