  2. Log in with your application number and date of birth.
  3. Download the scorecard showing subject-wise scores, percentile and qualifying status.

UGC NET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to certify eligibility for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and PhD admission in Indian universities, with results at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The exam is a single computer-based test of two papers (Paper 1 general aptitude, Paper 2 your subject) with no negative marking. Qualification is by a category-wise cut-off, and candidates are slotted into one of three outcomes:

Result band Eligible for
Top slice JRF + Assistant Professor + PhD
Middle slice Assistant Professor + PhD
Qualifying slice PhD admission only

Your scorecard states exactly which band you fall in. JRF holders also receive a monthly fellowship for research, making the top band especially competitive.

NTA conducts UGC NET twice a year (June and December cycles) and typically declares the result a few weeks after the exam, after the final answer key. This page updates the moment it is official.
What are the three qualifying categories in UGC NET?
Candidates can qualify for (1) JRF and Assistant Professor, (2) Assistant Professor and PhD admission, or (3) PhD admission only — depending on the cut-off band they fall in. The scorecard states which applies to you.
Is there negative marking in UGC NET?
