The CBSE compartment exam (officially the supplementary exam) is the second chance for students who missed clearing one or more subjects in the main May result. Around 2 lakh+ students across Class 10 and 12 appear each July.

The result lands on results.cbse.nic.in and DigiLocker, usually in the first half of August — in time for most college admission deadlines, which is exactly why the board schedules it so tightly.
