Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati was established in 1954 through the efforts of Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the veteran freedom fighter and former Madras/Andhra chief minister remembered as "Andhra Kesari." It opened with just a handful of founding departments — including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Economics — on what has grown into a roughly 1,000-acre campus. Today it runs several constituent colleges of its own alongside more than 130 affiliated undergraduate and postgraduate colleges spread across the Tirupati, Chittoor and Annamayya districts, plus a postgraduate centre at Kavali.
What "semester result" means here
Because SVU combines colleges it runs directly with a large number of independently managed affiliated colleges, there is no single result day. Each course, semester and college batch is evaluated and published as it's processed — a constituent college and an affiliated college running the same programme can see results on different days.
The result on the portal is provisional. For constituent colleges, the university itself issues the marksheet; for affiliated colleges, your marksheet comes from the college, typically some weeks after the online result. Plan around that gap if you need the physical document for an admission or job application.
How to check
- Open svuniversity.edu.in and find the results / examinations section.
- Select your exact course, semester and scheme, and note whether you're at a constituent or affiliated college.
- Enter your roll number / hall ticket number as printed on your admit card.
- Save the result as a PDF as soon as it appears.
If a mark looks wrong, or a paper didn't clear
- Rechecking confirms your marks were totalled and recorded correctly — the faster, cheaper option.
- Revaluation sends the script to another examiner for a fresh look, at a higher fee, and can move the mark up or down.
- Applications go through your college examination cell (or the university exam branch for constituent colleges) within the short window announced after each result.
- For a backlog/supplementary paper, check with your college or department for the next scheduled chance to clear it.
Before you rely on any of this
We publish result status and official links — we are not Sri Venkateswara University, and we cannot look up, alter or re-check a result. Scheme rules, revaluation fees and backlog timelines are set by the university and do change between cycles. Confirm the current position with your college examination cell or the university exam branch.
