How to check
- Open jmicoe.in and go to the declared results section.
- Log in with your application number and date of birth.
- Check your merit-list position, then follow the counselling and admission schedule.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a central university in New Delhi that conducts its own entrance examinations for a large share of its programmes — from school and diploma courses through undergraduate, postgraduate and research admissions. That matters, because a JMI entrance result behaves differently from a common national test.
There is no single "Jamia result"
JMI publishes results programme by programme. Each course has its own entrance, its own merit list and its own admission schedule. Two applicants to the same university in the same year can be waiting on completely unrelated announcements weeks apart.
So the first practical step is to identify your exact programme and its result notification, rather than watching for a university-wide announcement that does not exist.
Merit list, not just a score
For most programmes the result is published as a merit list — a ranked list of candidates against the seats available for that course, usually with category-wise breakdowns.
Two things follow:
- Your position relative to the seat count is what matters, not your raw score. A strong mark in a course with very few seats can still fall outside the list.
- Waiting lists move. Candidates who are allotted seats elsewhere withdraw, and subsequent lists are issued. Being just outside the first list is not the end of the process, and withdrawing from consideration prematurely is a common mistake.
How to check your result
- Open the JMI admission portal from the official link on this page.
- Navigate to your programme — results are organised by course, not by a single results page.
- Sign in with your application credentials, or search the published merit-list PDF for your application or roll number.
- Save the PDF and note the admission dates published with it, which are usually short.
Admission is the deadline that matters
Making the list is not admission. The seat is confirmed only when you complete the admission formalities within the published window, and that window is typically measured in days.
Have ready, in advance:
- Original certificates and marksheets for every qualification you claimed
- Category, EWS or other certificates in the format the university specifies
- Fee arrangements — admission fees are due quickly, and an unpaid fee forfeits the seat
If you are applying from outside Delhi, plan the logistics of reaching the campus before the list is published. Candidates lose seats to travel, not to marks.
If your name is not on the first list
- Wait for subsequent lists before concluding anything. Movement is normal.
- Check the notification for a waiting-list procedure — some programmes require you to confirm continued interest to stay in consideration.
- Keep an alternative live. Do not withdraw from another admission you hold until a JMI seat is confirmed in writing.
Before you rely on any of this
We publish result status and official links — we are not Jamia Millia Islamia, and we cannot retrieve, alter or re-check an individual result, nor advise on eligibility or reservation. Programme structures, merit-list procedures, admission windows and fees are set by the university and change between cycles. Confirm the current position in the official prospectus and notification for your programme.
If something here is out of date, tell us — corrections jump the queue.
